Dr. Austin, a native of West Tennessee, received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from David Lipscomb University. He attended the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in Memphis where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. He has been practicing General Dentistry in Hendersonville since 1984.
He has been active in continuing education, being a member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, Nashville Dental Society, and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). Dr. Austin earned the Fellowship award in 2010, which is presented to dentists who seek to provide the highest quality of dental care by remaining current in their profession. To accomplish this goal, Dr. Austin completed 500 hours of continuing dental education, passed a comprehensive exam and fulfilled three years of continuous membership in the AGD. Dentists who have earned Fellowship from the AGD reflect less than one percent of all general dentists practicing in the United States and Canada. Dr. Austin performs all aspects of cosmetic, implant, and family dentistry, with a focus on CAD/CAM computerized dentistry utilizing the CEREC technology where full coverage crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers may be performed in one office visit. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Austin is a CEREC Trainer for Patterson Dental Company, where he trains other dentists that are incorporating CEREC into their practices. In his spare time, Dr. Austin enjoys spending time with his wife, Wendy, and his daughters Stephanie and Rachel. His hobby is a life long passion with golf. |
